"Hard to find the hospital and the department"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

On arrival at Dunfermline QM station there is not clear directions on how to find Queen Margaret's hospital and no map- then when you do find it there are no traffic lights so you have to cross at a four way junction to get to the correct side of the road unless by luck you happen to have arrived on the right side. Even so there is a road to cross.

Then, when you get into the building the unit I was visiting which is a popular one (endoscopy) is almost impossible to find, with no signage. The nurses all agreed its hard to find, but no action is taken.

It's confusing especially if you are nervous or infirm which is more than likely if you're visiting a hospital! Why not just put some signs up in the hospital and maybe paint a zebra crossing on the roads outside the hospital?

Dear Scottishji

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent trip to Queen Margaret Hospital. I was sorry to hear of the difficulty you had and take your point about how this can be compounded when nervous or infirm. I have passed your post on to our Estates and facilities staff and asked for their comments. I will get back to you when I hear back from them.

In the meantime, thanks for taking the time to bring this issue to our attention

Regards

Louise
