I was referred to the OPD (Neurology) at St Lukes, following a Gp requested MRI scan report which advised further tests and to be seen by a Neurologist. The choose & book gave Bradford as 1 of the choices & the appt was the earliest so I took it. I did not have to wait very long for the appt...within 6/52 so that was positive as was the waiting time in the OPD. However thats where the positives end. The Clinician seemed disinterested from the start of the consultation, did ask some questions but they felt more like an interrogation at times, and other times didnt allow me to give my answers...in other words a poor listener who made their mind up within a minute of my getting in there. They obviously felt I was time waster as they repeatedly looked at the clock! Said I didnt need further tests & even if I had something like MS there is no treatment. They were intent on putting words in my mouth and made me feel humiliated and surprisingly angry at their appalling attitude. The saving grace was they did agree to refer me elsewhere for another opinion. This was the worst consultation Ive ever had & I am in the business so know what its about. My time is way too precious and getting there & back was hellish. Lets hope the referral gets made.
