"Good atmosphere"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

*** Bad points **** The toilet in the fracture clinic was not very clean, toilet paper on the floor, no toilet roll in the holder and no soap...the toilet itself was dirty too.

*****

Good Points ******

I was booked in as soon as the shutters were open, went through to another waiting area where all the staff seemed to be in high spirits.

I was called in and seen to on time. The Doctor came in and introduced themself to me by name and shook my hand, they were efficient and friendly.

I had to be fitted with a boot for 6 weeks and the nurse who fitted it was so nice and friendly.

I was given clear instructions on what to do for the next 6 weeks and what is to happen in the future.

I was wished a Merry Christmas and had a bit of banter with the nurses and my partner on the way out.

A very very pleasant experience.

Thank you for your posting following your attendance in the Fracture Clinic at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. It was disappointing to read your comment regarding the uncleanliness of the toilet facilities and will ensure that the Estate and Facilities Manager is made aware of this as this hospital prides itself on the standards of cleanliness and the awards we win for this. Thank you also for sharing your positive comments regarding your appointment which I will forward to the Division of Specialist Services to share with the staff.

Kind regards

Following escalation of your point regarding the uncleanliness of the toilets in the Orthopaedics, the Estates and Facilities Manager has advised that the toilets are cleaned through the day and evenings in Orthopaedics OPD. However he has asked that the supervisors undertake additional spot checks to ensure the facilities are maintained to our expected standards and would thank you for bringing this to his attention.

Kind regards
