"Impressed with my daughter's care at Macclesfield"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital / Accident and emergency Macclesfield District General Hospital / Paediatrics

(as the patient),

Just to say that my daughter was rushed into hospital in August, she went through Macclesfield A&E and then the children's ward. She had an operation followed by a month of aftercare at the hospital. She received the best possible care i could wish for. The children's ward was great and i cannot make any negative comments about any of her care. We have private health care but decided to stick with the NHS and i cant see how it could have been a different level of care. Very impressed and grateful.x

Thank you for letting us know about your very positive experience in our hospital. We are delighted that you found the care and treatment on our Children's Ward to be so good.

The Children’s Ward is committed to offering the best possible aftercare and support for families. We offer direct access to the team of specialists on the ward, and the community nursing team who provide regular home visits and telephone support.

In order to make surgery less frightening and upsetting for children our Play Therapists are highly involved during the procedure. Play Therapists are present to distract children before the operation, during anaesthetic and when they wake up after the operation. Play Therapists also attend when a procedure is done during a home visit.
