"Appalling."

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

I was admitted via AMU.

Staff were friendly, but I was told my results showed malignancy.

A doctor made 3 attempts to insert a a drain into my abdomen, each of which left me screaming in pain.

This was then abandoned only to be completed superbly pain free the next day.

I was then transferred to F9.

This is where all went very rapidly down hill.

My notes recorded that I would be discharged to the care of my "spouse/partner" a tad tricky as he resides in a large urn on my desk at home having been dead for 6 years.

The notes also recorded that I was fitted with Tena pants and that the condition of my heels were checked, neither of which were accurate.

When I mentioned these to the nurse manager they said there was nothing they could do. At the staff handover they were clearly heard by the whole bay to tell the oncoming shift to be careful as I was a complainer and to be wary of what they recorded.

On my 3rd night a nurse left the drugs trolley unlocked and unattended (a known drug addiction was in the next bay) for a "laugh" another nurse cleared the bottom shelf of the drugs trolley, closed but not locked it and hide the drugs in a desk draw.

The nurses all thought this was funny and told patients about it.

The majority of occupants of my bay were bed bound. A 79 year old waiting for transfer to a hospice was left wet, naked covered only with a small towel, when her family questions staff they denied it had happened even though I had had to fetch someone to help her.

There were numerous occasions where drugs were not seen to be taken and an older bed bound lady was left with tram adolescents loose in a medicine pot at the time of the next drugs round.

I saw numerous doctors, and on 2 occasions was told 2 completely different things about my diagnosis in under an hour.

Eventually I was told at 12.30 that I was being discharged that day and the ward were just waiting for my medication. At 8pm I asked what was happening.

I was told they were waiting for the TTO and Meds to come back.

At 9.30 pm I left the hospital and arranged for collection of my medication the following day.

When my medication and discharge letter were collected the discharge date was the day before the actual discharge date and I learnt of a totally different diagnosis than I had been informed of.

My medication was incorrect and differed from that shown on the discharge letter 28 of each tablet had been given instead of the 28 days listed.

I phoned the pharmacy who told me no TTO had ever been ordered and they had no records of me.

Thankfully pharmacy were wonderful and arranged for the additional Meds to be collected.

Unfortunately the ward messed this up again and I had to go to my GP to get the extra Meds.

My discharge letter said an emergency clinic appointment had been made but as of7 weeks later it still not arrived.

Staff more interested in hiding they're dominoes pizzas than answering patient calls.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I'm really sorry to read your review and for your experience.

I'd like to be able to investigate further what happened, and to be able to assist with the emergency clinic appointment for you but will need more details.

Please can you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALs) on palsfrimleypark@fhft.nhs.uk and they will be able to help you.

Kind Regards
