I was admitted to B unit Greville ward on Tuesday 15/11/16 for a left hip replacement. My husband and I were immediately greeted by a member of staff who proceeded to admit me, in a very friendly professional manner.
They explained the layout of the bay, and also what to expect that morning. I was left to change into my theatre gown before both an anesthetist and surgeon visited to get my consent and mark the correct hip. I was escorted to theatre by a friendly member of staff. On my return to the ward post op
I was assured all had gone well. A nurse was always nearby and I felt the post op care was wonderful and reassuring. Although I had a few post op issues they were soon resolved, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for anyone. The three other ladies in that bay also felt the same. Every member of staff from the cleaner to the surgeon were professional, helpful and you never felt as if you were being a nuisance. Even when they were short staffed you never felt ignored. Food was good, cleanliness excellent. 2 days post op I was discharged, and even then had support of the SWATT team. Excellent service from everyone from start to finish. I would highly recommend the ward for treatment. A credit to the hospital.
