"My supportive Team on Hurst ward"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare Birmingham / Hurst

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I am on the way out now. Since I came it has always been that I tell the staff where I want to be and they support and tell me and give me ideas of how to get where I want to be

I feel like the staff have been more helpful than in my previous hospital. I was left to my own devices there and there was no structure there. At St Andrew’s they have said that if I want more leave, I have to do this, this and this. So I did and I found that I enjoyed the things they suggested.

I go out to a place every week and I enjoy it there. I got more freedom quicker here. There is a way that it works that is best for people here, but some people have different mind sets and don’t co-operate. If you work with the team – it works.

I am looking forward to my new life. I am very excited. It has been good to cut ties with things that are bad for me. I have a good supportive team and the team is there when needed.
