"Coronary Care Unit RLI August 2016"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary / Cardiology

I'm a 37 year old male who has lost 2 jobs in forestry due to continued cardiac events both acute and chronic. I was admitted via an Ambulance into A&E RLI in early August 2016. The long wait in A&E was a joke given i was Admitted with Cardiac trouble. Once in A&E I was treated fairly by a good Doctor who was respectful and caring. I was Admitted to CCU and was initially being treated with respect and care by the staff especially by a Stroke consultant who Admitted me for 4 days in CCU to be monitored and promised me i wouldnt be leaving until i had a battery of tests done. Reason for admission? Loss of consciousness, pale as a ghost, chest pain, shortness of breath, low blood pressure, cold, shivering and Arrhythmia/palpitations. Whilst in CCU a certain nurse who was a miserable bully and a healthcare assistant who cared little about my health intentionally made me feel uncomfortable. Due to the opinion of a registrar I was discharged with no tests done. This registrar had zero patient respect and zero care for me as a patient. This same registrar has since cancelled all further follow up as an outpatient which is simply unacceptable and a total disgrace. Given the fact i have a known history of Atrial Fibrillation among other cardiac issues including Leaking valves and Hypertrophy plus being on Beta blockers for Arrhythmia and Tachycardia it came as a shock that i was being discharged with no testing in 4 whole days in the cardiac ward! I was not given an explanation as to what had caused my collapse which lead to the Admission via Ambulance. It is a total disgrace that people in the Cardiac Unit are playing roulette with my life! I have since seen your Specialist Arrhythmia nurse in Kendal and they did no tests and has cancelled all further follow up! 'm utterly disgusted with the treatment and lack of care. It goes without saying i never want to be seen or treated by these people ever again as they lack care and empathy. It's not acceptable to be treated in such a cruel way and they should not be working in a hospital when they lack care and empathy.
