This hospital gets a lot of abuse and after staying here for a few days I don't know why! Can I just say all the staff have been incredible on ward 32, nothing has been to much to ask for and I'd like to say a big thank you to two members of staff in particular who always tried to put a smile on my face. Even when I had to press my button because I was in distress because my cannula and antibiotics, both came and tried to calm me down and kept making sure I was okay after that, one was on the following night and asked me if I felt any better and how I was doing with it now, they could remove it and was so gentle and I didn't feel a single thing because they know how distressed I am with them! So thank you both so much for everything! Also a huge thank you to another member of staff who came in and saw me and kept me smiling before my other minor op!
My dr, at ENT is so kind and patient with me! I've had a raging infection in my ear that spread down into further tissues and caused me agony, I've had to have suction 4 times in about 5 days with them yet they turn up with a smile and is always so friendly.
Also can we appreciate the people who don't spend a lot of time with us because they are running around the hospital transporting patients everywhere! The porters, they have really made my day every day, I told a porter who's been here a short time that I don't like the little minor op bit and that's where I was going so they told me we'd talk all the way down about happy things so it would take my mind off it. Absolutely brilliant! I did ask them " how are you finding it are you enjoying it" the response " I'm not enjoying it, I'm loving it!!" This person really does love their job and puts the patients at great ease and lets say, they are clearly well loved by all the staff at the hospital and I can tell why! if you could pass on my thanks I'd be so grateful.
the staff who came in and bring dinner and breakfast always ask how you doing and smiling all the time. Even though I only saw them for a couple of minutes each day, their smiling faces and kind words made a huge difference.
One thing you can't fault here is the staff! They are caring and They've made my NOT so joyful experience the best they could, from the doctors, to the nurses, the HCA's, the porters and the cooks!
I want to bring to your attention some of the brilliant amazing staff who made me happy and feel safe.
The NHS should be so proud of you all, I'll be eternally grateful for what you've done for me and I really hope you get the recognition you deserve from this. Charlotte.
