"PCNL surgery with 9 days hospital stay"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital / Urology

I had to go to hospital becaue I had a 2cm big kidney stone which has been removed with PCNL surgery. The surgeon was a very good and nice person and explained everything. The surgery was successful on a Thursday, they could remove all of the stones. But the next day I felt sick because of the general anastetic and became bloated maybe because I have IBS too.The Friday x-ray showed a lot of gas in my bowels. The surgeon came and visit me, they told me if I cannot go to the toilet by next day the nurse would have to give me something,as I didn't go to the toilet the day after the surgery. But there was a bank holiday weekend,so hardly any doctor was available, and my surgeon was away during the weekend. They locked my probiotics and herbs away, took 3 days to get them back. That's why I would need my probiotics because I got lot of antibiotics. The nurses didn't give me anything which helped to go to the toilet or at least empty some gas, just told me to drink more if I cannot eat, because I don't drink enough. But I couldn't drink more because my bloated bowels pushed my stomach. On Sunday one of my friend came to visit me who spoke with a nurse and she were told that I would get something on Sunday. When the nurse was giving the tablets they told me no tablet for the bloating, because first I would have to seen by a doctor. My husband was there and asked the nurse there were 2 doctors 2 different times why did not come any of them to see me?The nurse just said some excuse to him that no doctors available because it's weekend and those doctors were consultants... Anyway, around 9pm on Sunday finally a doctor arrived and prescribed me something which helped me empty the gases and go to the toilet.Everything would be better from Monday, but it happened twice,I had to wait 50mins with a leaking urine from my back telling different nurses at least 4 times until a nurse came to change dressing. On Tuesday they clamped the drainage bag but after 4hrs I felt very big pain, because the urine couldn't go to the bladder,so put the bag back.Sent me a CT to see where is the blockage, the surgeon told me they saw something was swelling in the kidney where the big stone was during the surgery. On the CT they pushed me some contrast through the drainage tube which was very very painful, but still couldn't tell where was the blockage, but in the ward a doctor told me that I had blockage. So on Thursday the surgeon put an internal stent and told me I can go home on Friday morning if I'd feel OK.I felt OK on Friday, but my temperature changed, but didn't have any fever, and the doctors didn't want to believe me that it's because of my IBS,so the morning doctor told me to wait until afternoon or Saturday...I was very angry that time, but pleased that I could manage to let me home on Friday afternoon with a sticky bag on my back.Spent 9 days in hospital...Anyway, some nurses were very kind and helpful, but some of them wasn't.
