I followed the advice of my pastor to get remedicated on psychiatric medication. I took myself to A and E at the hospital in Woolwich and was assessed by the duty psychiatrist. His assesment led to me being referred to the home treatment team based at Oxlease House in Woolwich. After I have encountered some very poor care at another couple of hospitals this home treatment team resotred my faith that is there is good care to be had and was treated with respect, consulted over my treatment and preferred medication and dose. They were very professional, warm and encouraging. I found the home treatment team at Oxlease House to be among the best care I have received. I would not hesitate if I needed their input and if they are anything to go by I would not be scared if I needed to be admitted as an inpatient into the psychiatric wards at Oxlease House. Their standar of care and work was exemplary, and I want to commend them. After I suffered poor care at two other hospitals I was very nervous about getting involved with mental health teams again, but they put all my fears to rest and did nothing but do the job to a very good standard. They were brilliant.
