"Unsatisfactory"

If you are currently considering sending your child here for treatment I would ask you to consider your choice ,chalkhill unit is supposed to offer qaulified staff to treat your children however this seams to be insufficient as adults are made to feal in inadequate and are isolated and unaware of the treatment or important desicions wich take place in there young person's care many children have even experienced verbal abuse from staff and do not feal safe or comfortable in the chalkhill environment .Secondly I would like to report the terrible hygiene issues surrounding living conditions in chalkhill what have resulted in children and staff being ill resulting in there unbearable stay becoming longer at chalkhill beds are never cleaned along with everything else in the facility's and as this is a mixed sex environment this as should be priority that the children's room's should be cleaned.

Thankyou for this feedback.

I am sorry that you have not had a good experience of Chalkhill.

We aim to involve all families and carers in their child’s care.

We provide a weekly parent/carer appointment with a senior member of our clinical team, along with asking all parents/carers to contribute to our weekly ward round.

Nursing staff are available daily for more informal discussions and to offer support.

All children and young people also have regular Multi-disciplinary reviews which parents and carers are invited to.

Regarding our environment, we have cleaners on site every day and bedrooms are cleaned daily.

We recently received a score of 93% from our patient led assessment of care report (PLACE Report).

We would like to improve on this, and have an action plan targeted at increasing this score.

We do have mixed sex parts of the wards but we have separate corridors for male and female sleeping areas.

Please do contact me on 01444472670 if you would like to discuss this further.
