"Colonoscopy carried out at W H Hospital...."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

Very impressed with this department. Standards of care excellent. Written information on what to do by way of preparation was easy to follow.

Telephone numbers given should we require further information before the procedure. Clinical areas were spotless and well organised. Staff worked as a team. Staff showed interest in the patient.

Although we had to wait for our appointment, it was not an issue as reasons were given for the delay. Time was given to making a thorough assessment without interruption. Staff did not appear to be rushed and this made my husband feel safe and helped to allay his anxiety. Each part of my husband's journey through the clinical pathway was explained and it clearly ran smoothly for us. MHe said it was his best experience of the NHS, having previously had this same procedure carried out in two different hospitals in Kent over the years. Well done to William Harvey Hospital.

Thank you very much for letting us know about the successful appointment for your husband.

A colonoscopy is not the most pleasant of procedures, but it is excellent to hear that all the communication and information was good and that any of his anxieties and fears were allayed.

I hope that you learn about the outcome quickly and that all is well.
