"The staff seem friendly and respectful ..."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The staff seem friendly and respectful however no one is willing to help get my baby treated.

What could be improved

Waiting times for referrals. My 4 month old son has been referred both by my local GP in the area and also the DR who first saw him in Australia where he first began having problems. He is on medication that can lower his blood pressure and has a large ulceration at the back of his neck that no one has even looked at, he was born prematurely and so is small for his age anyway and the amount of pain he is in is also reducing his weight gain yet no one in the medical team seems bothered, i m running out of both medication and bandaging yet no one will see me or help me to get any more. No one has seen my son for over 2 months now, despite his being in pain and on trial medication. The GP wont look at him and neither will the health visitor, they keep telling me to wait to see the specialist he has been referred to and yet the specialist wont give us an appointment.

Anything else?

Particularly in pediatrics it would be nice to have referrals followed up, at least adults can be given pain relief and have their pain explained to them, infants need to be seen urgently to reduce the effect of their problems on growth and development.
