"Early pregnancy assessment unit ward 1"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Gynaecology

On going for an early pregnancy scan on the 26/10 I was given the devestating news that I was going through a miscarriage this wasn't the first time we have gone through this but this time our experience was made so different we seen a lovely nurse who gave us all the information we needed they were honestly fantastic so much different to the nurse we seen back in April 2016. They listened whilst I cried they had so much time for us and this made our whole experience toatally different at such a difficult time I never normally give feedback on things like this but felt this nurse needed recognition for just how fantastic they were to us . We honestly can't thank them enough so from the bottom of our hearts thank you my husband and I both walked out of ward 1 so heartbroken but we both said straight away this nurse was fab such a nice person which is what you need in a sad suituation. We will never forget you , you are the person that changed our experience thank you so much Sarah and Matthew Slaughter

Dear Mr and Mrs Slaughter

Thank you for your post regarding your experience at the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit on Ward 1 at Heartlands Hospital. My apologies to you for any delay in responding to your comments and may I please extend my sincere condolences to you both. I am so very sorry for your loss.

It really is most appreciated that you have provided your kind feedback at such a difficult time. I am so pleased to read that you felt the nurse who looked after you was fantastic, and that the way in which you were both supported at such a sad and devastating time for you made such a difference to your previous experience.

I will ensure that your feedback is forwarded to the Early Pregnancy Unit Nurse Manager, as well as the Matron and the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology who will ensure that your feedback is shared with the nurse directly as well as all of the team who do work very hard to support patients and their families in a caring, supportive way to ensure a good quality patient experience.

I hope my actions are acceptable and once again thank you so much for taking the time to provide your comments, it is very important to us.

With kindest regards

Marie Helebert
