"Treated with dignity and respect"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Critical Care

(as a relative),

My dad was in a cycling accident in may 2015, he spent two days in icu but sadly he didn't make it. The staff supported me through those two days, explained everything in depth, gave me a hug when I needed it, allowed my 5 month old daughter to give her Grandad a cuddle good bye.

My dad was treated with dignity and respect and I couldn't have asked for more

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear Rthomson85

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am very sorry to read about the loss of your dad. I am glad to read that the care provided to your dad meant so much to you and also how that care was extended to you and your daughter.

I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to the staff in Critical Care, they will be glad to hear that the care they provided gave you comfort during such a difficult time.

My thoughts are with you and your daughter.
Lisa
