I first visited my GP at the beginning of October 2015 with vaginal bleeding. The Practice Nurse did an examination and found I was bleeding from my cervix and said she was referring me to hospital. I received my appointment for mid-October. I had a vaginal scan and then an appointment with Mr Lotfallah afterwards who did a biopsy. At the end of October I saw Ms Dawson who told me that I had cancerous cells in my uterus and unfortunately needed a hysterectomy. She told me that a meeting had taken in Sheffield, I think she said Sheffield, with other consultants and that they felt I should have an operation to remove my uterus, cervix, overies and fallopian tubes.
A pre-op assessment was made with a date for my operation on the 17th November. I had a telephone call from Mr Lotfallah's secretary to say she had a cancellation for November and I gratefully accepted this. The operation took place and apparently I was in theatre about one and a half hours. I was discharged from B11 the following day. I have nothing but praise for Mr Lotfallah and his team. When he did his rounds on the Wednesday morning he introduced me to his colleague who apparently "did all the work. " I have nothing but praise for this department, Mr L and his team and all the staff on B11, I attend Greenoaks for my follow-up appointments and they are also lovely too. I cannot fault my experience at all. A very BIG THANK YOU to you all. If I had to make a comment I would have liked a visit from one of our district nurses on my return home just for reassurance really
