What I liked
some of the nurses and staff on g ward have bent over backwards to help my daughter.
What could be improved
the waiting times you have to wait for your pain relief after asking,4 hours on one occasion!
Anything else?
as the ward is mainly elderly patients, there are a couple of the staff that think that a teenager does not deserve respect and dignity.a senior member of staff told my daughter "to go home and get a life" as my daughter is currently suffering from pretty bad depression i think that was a very unprofessional comment,in front of visitors! and within ear shot of other patients and visitors! at the time of the comment,(it isn't the 1st time either) my daughter was very upset and distressed and this just made matters worse.they are aware of her mental state but obviously don't care less.
there is also a lot of contradiction goes on there, one doctor says one thing, another says and does another.
basically,on this occasion of my daughter being a patient, she spent 3 days on ward 7 without a problem at all, within 8 hours of being moved to the dreaded g ward the tears and frustration arrived as she received a nurse who treats her nearly as poorly as senior members of staff, maybe my daughter gives off vibes of i don't like you to them(symptom of depression),but aren't they the professionals, who have been trained to put personal dislikes to one side? they certainly don't show it!
