About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Older people's mental health

(as the patient),

My husband was a patient in Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline Ward 5

He has Vascular Dementia. We were approached if we would take part in the Playlist for life, choosing his own music which was then given to him on a hub with earphones.  This was done through Glasgow University.

This is a wonderful tool as he sits and listens to his music, so calm and the feet are tapping.

My prayer is this will be available to all who need this, as the change from being agitated and angry is unbelievable. 

A very grateful carer.

Dear mcleod

Thank you for telling us about your husband's experience when he was a patient in Ward 5 Queen Margaret Hospital. Vascular dementia is an awful disease and it can be very difficult for loved ones to witness deterioration. The Playlist for life is truly a wonderful way of reconnecting people to important memories and things that mattered most to them in the past. I will gladly share your feedback and find out where we are at with the work that has been on going with Glasgow Caledonian University.
