Altough originally misdiagnosed as having pneumonia, as soon as it was realised the antibiotics weren't working, I had tests which discovered a faulty heart valve. The surgery came a lot quicker than I thought it would. The whole experience, whilst frightening, was exceptional in the care and treatment I received. From the surgeon, theatre staff and nurses to the cleaners and even the guy who came to clean the tvs, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The after care is fantastic. I have just finished cardiac rehab exercise classes and have just started upbeat sessions.
I can't fault anything that happened in my NHS experience, during what was a stressful and fightening time.
I think there must be people with bad experiences, but some of us should not think that all of the NHS is like that. I believe it has improved tremendously over the years an I am sure it will continue to do so.
