Sinus surgery

About: New Victoria Hospital / Day hospital

(as the patient),

I went to the Victoria Infirmary for a bilateral balloon sinuplasty with Mr. Sheikh. I was staying overnight in the 23hour ward as I didn't have a carer. From the beginning the nursing staff were friendly, helpful and organised. I knew I had a bit of a wait before my surgery and Danny my nurse made sure I was comfortable and ready to go!

Mr. Sheikh and his registrar were absolutely fabulous and talked me through the procedure again and answered my questions. The anesthetist was brilliant as well and I didn't even realise I was falling asleep until I woke up after surgery!

The nurses in the ward were absolutely lovely. Friendly, helpful and did everything they could to make us comfortable. Overall I was very impressed with the entire procedure and really impressed with the staff. Thank you everyone! !

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am pleased to read that the care you received at the New Victoria Hospital made such a difference to you. What you have explained here, is how all of our patients should feel in terms of your care being explained to you as well as being listened to, with your questions being answered. Furthermore, the way in which the care by our staff was provided to you in a friendly and helpful way also makes a difference.
