"Ward 505"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery

(as a student nurse),

I was admitted from the doctors to hospital and was sent straight to ward 505. The staff there was so kind and helpful and made me feel so important. They stop on their tracks to make sure everyone was ok. I felt so happy and content there whilst they were looking after me. They gave me pain releif when it was needed and kepted asking if I was in any form of pain.

Dear Enna96

Thank you very much indeed for taking time to post your feedback on Patient Opinion. Being admitted to hospital in an emergency situation can be very frightening so it was great to read about how well looked after and content you were. Your little story says a lot about what matters to patients; kindness, helpfulness and being pain free. These are parts of what we call person-centred care and if you were made to feel important that is because you are!! Our patients are the most important thing to us. You story is all the more heart-warming because as a student nurse yourself you would recognise what good care looks and feels like.

I hope you are feeling better now and I thank you again. I will make sure that the staff in Ward 505 are made aware of your feedback.

Kind regards and good luck with your studies. We hope you will be a member of staff with NHS Grampian when you complete your degree.

Kind regards,
