My father was admitted on to Ward 1 at the BRI in Septmeber 2016 via the A&E department. The care my father received from the nurses was poor, and no consideration for patient comfort or choice. The nurses on night shift had no experience of patient care or pastoral support. The Night registar was nothing but a snob, they didn't bother reading any notes and kept interrupting when asking their questions.
My father had taken an Overdose but the seriously damaging issue was that my fathers medicine were on the bed side next to him for 48 hours without a nurse outing them in a safe so they were out of reach. My father tried accessing these several times but the nurses were not bothered. The registar an junior doctors are a complete was of time.
