My Dad has been in and out of SH regularly since January. On the whole wards are great..especially Estuary who have fantastic staff. At the other end is Windsor for the elderly. Staff ignored patients and family while they chatted and they were slow to attend to any requests for help..be it to move food closer, get pain relief or even get a bed pan, I was shocked it was really bad. It was the worst ward he had been in and he became really depressed..he would always be waiting for help each time I visited so I saw it with my own eyes. I always had to wait ages to be updated on his progress and usually had to ask more than once. There needs to be a matron that oversees this ward..if there is one..they are not doing their job. All staff should spend a day on Estuary ward..they were amazing. Up until him staying in Windsor, I was happy with the hospital. I dread to think what happens to patients in Windsor who do not have regular visitors.
"In general great but Windsor ward was terrible."
