I just want to send a little message. I have never posted on a website before but after a recent discharge I am determined to say my thanks. I was admitted for a few nights two weeks ago for a bad chest infection. I have been riddled with one thing after another My husband died three months ago and I find myself still very tearful from time to time. Not only were all the staff kind and welcoming in the emergency medicine unit ECU One of the young doctors, I don't know her full name she introduced herself as Zara and I would like to thank her for being so caring.

She came into my room in the middle of the night after I was brought from the A&E, took time to listen to my story. She held my hand and when I cried she didnt offer me a tissue but actually gave me a hug. I could tell she was rushed off her feet. The little alarm on her shoulder kept buzzing. Neverthless, she made me feel important and gave me my antibiotics but also her time and respect. She even came back the next again day just to "see how I was doing". Whenever I saw her over the next few days and nights no matter how many hours she was always smiling

The same is true for the nurses, the porters and breakfast lady- everyone was busy I could see and yet they laughed and joked even if they had been on their feet for 1012 hours

. The NHS is the jewel of our country and it is so wonderful to see young doctors and nurse Thank you to alll the wonderful staff **

Thank you very much for getting in touch and for your comments in relation to the care you received whilst an inpatient here at Wishaw General Hospital, and indeed at such a worrying time for you. I hope that you are recovering well and your health will continue to improve.

Your positive comments are very welcome and I will ensure they are fed back to the staff in the Emergency Medical Receiving Unit, who work so hard in ensuring the care we deliver to patients is of a high standard, as well as being compassionate to the needs of our patients.

It is very reassuring to read your story and I will ensure that this is passed back to the staff in the Unit for them to know that although they are very busy, that their care and personal attention is appreciated. I have no doubt they will be delighted for the feedback.
