I was called in for my second thyroid operation and once again experienced such kindness, professionalism and care from all the staff concerned right from first greeting to final goodbye.
The ward, Cavell, was so busy and the staff overstretched coping with lack of equipment and personnel but never a gloomy look and nothing was too much trouble
Everyone there has my deepest admiration although I did feel for the poor nurse having to remove a difficult stitch by a colleague's phone light due to the fact that the bedlight was not working and had not been for some time. It is a little thing, but it makes their job easier. Surely a bulb would not break the budget?
I was discharged on Wednesday and went to the Neurology out patients clinic where I had an appointment. Again charming people and smiles: what a difference they make to worried and upset patients.
I was treated almost at once by a very nice consultant, who explained my condition very clearly and answered all my questions. Two small scratches and I was done and on my way home.
Thank you all so much for looking after me so well.
