I moved to Dorset earlier in the year with care for my diabetes transferred to Dorchester County Hospital. I have been really impressed with the diabetic service and the team members that I have come into contact with.
I have found it really helpful to have a 7 days a week contact number for the Diabetic Specialist Nurses and have used this when I was unsure about adjusting my insulin. After leaving a message one of the nurses got back to me with helpful advice. Unfortunately I have had to make two requests for my scheduled appointment with the nurse to be changed, most recently I asked if it would be possible to move it to the same date as my consultant appointment. I have just received my rconfirmation letter with the same date.
This is a great example of a service that sees that person before the patient. Thank you
