Today I took my five month pregnant wife for ultrasound session at Manchester St Mary hospital. The appointment was scheduled sometime in the afternoon and we made sure to be there about 10 minutes in advance.
We waited for an hour in the waiting room (the appointment by now was 50 minutes late), soon we realised that everyone was in that same situation, we all got nervous and although the nurses (receptionists) at the desk had noticed our growing concern none of them told us what was going on, and no information at all, it's like we just had to put up with the whole situation. Eventually a nurse came for us, with no apologies whatsoever, and after only 20 minutes or so, we were done!
We paid for one picture of the ultrasound and after collection we drove back home just to realise that we were given someone else's ultrasound picture!!! Now I really have to say I was not impressed by the staff I saw, actually I am sort of let down because I also work for NHS and in my department we make it a point to respect our patients and deliver services on time, which clearly wasn't the case of what I witnessed today.
