ihad made all arrangements for removal of eye cataract and had had a full assessment previously.On the day of the surgery due in at12 30 i was called about 10 00 asking me to come as soon as possible as i needed blood test not taken previously regarding bad bleeding i am not on warfarin On arrival I visited the ward to be told my consulant was ill and a locum doctor maybe found.I had the blood test returned to the ward to be told the pm clinic was cancelled surprise surprise The nurses were helpful and booked a cab Ihad made arrangements for a sister to collect me after my surgery but not at noon also i had no bus pass on me My son told me the nurses phoned five minutes after i left to say do not come

I have another appt for mid september as i am elderly badly arthritic i cannot arrive at seven am.Is thirty pounds a record for an nhs blood test Now retired I worked in an nhs district hospital admin for twenty years ive seen it all
