I was recently referred to Liverpool Dental Hospital for surgical extraction of an infected tooth which my dentist said could not be saved.
At my first appointment at the dental hospital, the dentist questioned the need for extraction and stated that there was every chance the tooth could be saved through root canal treatment and a gold crown. I was given the choice of how to proceed and opted to keep the tooth.
I went on to have several sessions of treatment to disinfect the tooth, drill it out, re-fill the roots, cap it and finally crown it. The treatment was second to none and the hospital was conspicuously modern and very well equipped. I was also reassured by the dentist's explanation that, at the dental hospital, they were not as pressed for time as in private practice and could therefore really concentrate on getting a perfect finish to the job.
I felt fully informed and fully in control of my treatment throughout the process and really cannot praise the skills and performance of the dentist and hospital too highly. A first-class experience all round.
"Impeccable service on the NHS"
