"Thanks for all your good work"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Ophthalmology (Eye Problems) Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a parent/guardian),

Our eight year old was accidentally hit by a ball which caused damage to his eye. As it was unusual to see such an injury his optician referred him urgently to the eye clinic. We were seen very quickly and my son was treated with such good care he was excited to return again.... which luckily for us, would be only a quick review at the childrens hospital!

The staff, the receptionist, the nurse and the opthalmologist were all very helpful; talking to him directly about his issue and how it was to be resolved. It was refreshing to see professionals speaking to the patient himself and not over him. The injury was resolved quickly and he is now back to full health.

Many thanks for all your good work up at the Eye Clinic.

Dear Tigersocks

Many thanks for posting your feedback on Patient Opinion. What a frightening thing to happen. It sounds as if your wee boy was very brave!

The staff in the Eye Out-patient Department will be delighted to hear what a great job they did for your son. High quality care, delivered by caring professionals in a timely manner is what you describe and what we hope is the standard for all our patients. We aim to put the person at the centre of all that we do, no matter what the age, so it is heartening to know how involved your son was with his care.

We are very grateful to you for sharing the story of your son’s care and very happy that he is fully recovered from his accident.

Kind regards,
