I was treated for anxiety issues by a Senior C. B. T. Therapist who made me get my life back on track. She taught me how to become my own therapist and use Cognitive and Behavioural life Skills to cope and challenge negative thoughts and avoidance habits. I was unemployed for a long time could not leave the house and struggled to use public transport because of panic attacks. All this has changed with slow exposure to the things I perceived as fearful and learnt to re-train and programme my brain to think positively and differently.
My therapist introduced me to taking up Volunteer Work which was the main factor in gaining back my confidence. I did this for 9 - 10 months then applied for an internal job I was volunteering for. I had my first interview in 16 years with two people and got the job. I am now employed part time and travelling on public transport with pretty much no trouble at all.
The service I received was excellent it really has turned my life around. I have learnt a life skill in managing my condition, I would recommend the West London Mental Health NHS Trust Ealing IAPT service to everyone who suffers with anxiety and stress problems.
"Really turned my life around"
