About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

After attending a hearing department appointment at

Poole clinic I received another appointment by post to attend Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This was referenced to be concerning my BAHA (bone anchored hearing aid). I had a one and a half hour wait only to be told by the doctor that I saw that this was not dealt with at RBH and I would need to go to Salisbury Hospital. I consider the time wasted (two and a half hours including travelling time) a complete disgrace. The hospital also wasted the opportunity for another patient to be given that appointment. All round a complete waste of my time and your hospital resources. Most unsatisfactory.

Just to be clear I did not ask for this appointment.

I was sorry to hear you did not have a good experience in one of the Audiology and ENT clinics.

I raised your comments with a senior member of staff in the area who has replied below:

The clinics for Audiology and ENT are hosted by RBH but the staff are employed by Poole NHS Trust and Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust. It is therefore very difficult for me to comment on a decision made by a visiting clinician without more specific details. Please accept my apologies and I would be happy to investigate further.
