My wife had been suffering from very high heart rate and fibrillation.
A consultant prescribed medication to clear up the fibrillation, but the very high heart rate continued.
She became extremely tired and so unwell that I took her to A & E early one morning.
She was seen , initially by a doctor, and then referred to a specialist Cardiology nurse who performed a D C cardioversion . Under the additional care of a doctor this involved stopping and restarting the heart and restoring normal pace and rhythm.
My wife and I were greatly impressed and thankful for the care and attention she received.
Also worth mentioning was the professional way the specialist nurse spoke to and instructed two young medical students, who were seeing the procedure for the first time.
