I saw a nurse who was lovely throughout, they were the only member of staff I felt treated me with dignity and let me make decisions. Arrived, was brought through by another nurse into the recovery area, I was sick with nerves and they kept asking me if I had a stomach bug. Waiting for ages in this little room with the tv blaring before I was allowed to come in. Found the surgeon to on to be so rude and patronising - felt forced to try and take contraception I didn't want to take as I wanted to speak to someone else, their response is well let's hope we don't see you in here again then when I said I would be using condoms. The the nurse practitioner in the room was lovely and helped me get into position and held my hand. The surgeon injected the local and it happened straight away no waiting like I had been told. It was agony. The only blessing is it's quick. I saw all of the tissue on the table which was horrifying. I got back into the recovery area and started being sick. Said nurse from before told me to go to the toilet whilst I was being sick no helping me. Nurse came in and took my blood pressure and actually asked if I was ok and got me a glass of water. I didn't feel much compassion from most of them but I equally understand they had a lot of people to see and they are there to get it done. I appreciate this service massively and will be donating in future but just a little bit less of condescending and patronising would be better.
