My 76 year old mother was exposed to this ward twice, and both times faced with processes that hindered her rather than the nursing staff. E.m.u. To an untrained ear suggests then divide all is treated as an emergency - they aren't! This is a holding pen, with no triage process whatsoever. I cannot for one minute critiques the nursing staff who work tirelessly and constantly, however, when my mother was admitted to this ward on both occasions she was desperately ill, but simply placed on a list waiting to be seen. Crying with pain - irrelevant, writhing in agony - irrelevant... She must stay on the list! When she was eventually assessed by a Dr 8 hours after admission, we were simply given a form telling us how to complain.... Twice this has happened now, I fear for anyone Seriously ill admitted to this ward....no deviating form a list, or any form of triage.... Shameful behaviour from a hospital so good and other things
"Emergency Management Unit - Dreadful in a word."
