Me and my partner visited on Tuesday evening with our 5 month old daughter who we had taken to doctors the week before as she had a vomiting bug we he been advised to take her here if we had any concerns out of hours. The receptionist was more than helpful and we sat down and waited an hour to be seen which was not exceptionally long. However on being called in we found the nurse to be very rude with us they didn't listen to our concerns and didn't even have a look at the baby instead told us very abruptly we must go to a&e they made us feel like we had not taken due care of our baby girl, which was really upsetting to us as she is the most precious thing in our lives and would never put her at risk (exactly the reason we had gone to seek medical advise) we both left after less than 1 minute in the room with the nurse and think we where both in shock otherwise my partner would have said something to them as I was so upset. Really can't believe how as first time parents we where treated and will be making a formal complaint also as advised to do so by alder hey. Luckily our baby was absolutely fine after waiting in a&e for 4 hours so we where happy however we would expect more compassion (especially when regarding a young baby) from someone in the job role such of a nurse. Not to be treated like dirt on their shoe, even if they couldn't help would not have hurt for the nurse to take an interest in our concerns and our baby. Very very disappointed we also heard them have this same rude tone with other patients. We felt like they just wanted to get everyone in and out so they could go home. Very very bad experience of care (well lack of).
"very rude and patronising nurse on duty"
