"Excellent Hospital stay but discharge needs..."

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

1 week ago I was admitted to BRI for an elective laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy. I had this operation on Thursday afternoon and was allowed home on Friday after lunch. I received excellent treatment and cannot recommend this hospital enough. I was given my own room with en suite facilities which provided me with peace and quiet enabling me to sleep well and aid my recovery.

The only thing I found a little disappointing was the discharge. I was wheeled from my room to the back entrance of the hospital and left outside feeling vulnerable and light headed from the strong pain killers and people smoking.

I would however like to give my sincere thanks to all The Colorectal Surgery Team and dedicated staff who looked after me.
