"She really helped me with my phobia"

About: Inclusion Matters Wirral

(as the patient),

I found Inclusion Matters a real good place to go. I was afraid to go out for years until I went to see Nichola at Inclusion Matters. She really helped me with my phobia. I couldn't even go out into my garden. I used to cry, scream, shout and get very anxious if I saw a feather or bird.

I kept quiet for years and have never been to the shore with my children. I make a show of myself in town, people used to look at me as if I was a weirdo. One day I was in town and some old lady thought I was going to grab her bag and purse. I told her 'I don't want your bag and purse, I'm hiding behind you because of the birds.'

I felt like a really nasty horrible person, so I did something about it and went to my doctors. She got Inclusion Matters to contact me. Now I am able to walk into town with the birds and feathers around me and have come a long way.

It's still in the back of my head, but if I never met Nichola I would have never gone out. I recommend therapy. Thank you Nichola.

Dear Fountain719,

I'm really pleased that your therapy helped you to overcome your phobia. I'm also glad that you have recommended therapy - it may help others come forward in the future, and give them hope too.

I will pass on your feedback to Nicola. Thanks very much for your response.
