As a disabled patient I requested assistance as I had begun being sick. I was helped immediately and a Nurse from the Dermatology Dept took my Appointment Letter then returned for me saying she was taking me directly to see the Consultant. This was done with care and respect and there was minimal waiting time. The Consultant diagnosed a BCC very quickly and offered me two treatment options, Radiotherapy or Surgery; I chose the latter. Then I was told that due to the site of this Skin Cancer I would also need a Skin Graft. I then signed a Consent Form and after a short wait, was taken through to the treatment Room for a Biopsy. Having been seen within two weeks of GP Referral, I was shocked to learn that I would have to wait 3wks for the Lab Report.
