"On-screen recording would be more efficient"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

All of the staff at my recent appointment were very friendly and extremely helpful but I did feel sorry for the nurse who had to confirm my medical history, Despite having all of the correct information on the screen in front of her, she had to hand write it all onto a form for the doctor. We both felt this was a waste of her time. Would it not be more efficient for her to confirm and amend it on screen, if necessary, and then print it off. It would then be easier for the doctor to read as well. In fact he too could read it on screen.

I was impressed that all of my information was accurately recorded and felt that the rest of the system would benefit from being updated to reflect the introduction of easily accessed online records.

Many thanks for your feedback.

We are currently in the process of transferrig from paper record to electronic patient records and there is a team who are working on this project.

I am pleased to hear that your information was accurately recorded and that the staff you encountered were helpful.

I have passed your comments to the team who are looking at the electronic patient records for their information.

Kind regards

Patient and Customer Services Manager
