"Waiting for an MRI appointment and xray"

Ive been having pain in my lower leg just above my ankle for the last couple of months and it dident seem to be getting better I first went to the doctors and she told me it was a sprained ankle and that I can still play football which was strange... after 2 weeks I still had pain and no sign of it getting better. so I went back to the doctors explained my situation and what it was like and the doctor referred me for an Xray straight away and I went there the same day to have them done wait around 2hrs as they were very busy got seen and had Xrays and everything was fine waited 7 day for my results and the doctor called me to say they had found signs of a fracture in my leg but it was not completely clear so he is going to refer me for a MRI and Xray and I should wait a week for the paper work, ive waited nearly a month for the call or paperwork to let me know when my appointment is and still nothing I tried phoning the doctors and they were no help so im lost as what to do I just need to find out what wrong and get it sorted and fixed.

the Xray team were great and my second doctor was great and to the point.
