This is one of the better wards at Farnham Road, greatly helped by the fact that it has an outside area (why on earth was this new hospital designed so that two wards have no garden? It is so vital to wellbeing).
The Juniper staff are generally caring and attentive, some exceptionally so, and this is by far the most important factor in creating a positive experience. No amount of fancy new facilities can compensate for good care, and some of the other wards at this hospital need to recognise this. As usual the occupational therapy and diversional activities are excellent, when available.
Unfortunately, the manner in which I was discharged was unpleasant and unprofessional, but that's the doctor's responsibility, so it wouldn't be fair to judge the whole ward on that. Juniper is probably the best of the six mental health wards I have stayed on.
