"I don't know what i was in for"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Urology Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I came in here thinking they were going for a look and now they want me to stay in.

The doctor never said what they wanted from me and I’m not prepared. They never said what they are going to do.

There saying it’s something about a bleed but not telling me anything else.

Signed a form at the Queen Margaret saying they wanted me in soon.

I came in and never got the person who said that they wanted to see me.

I had no information through the post to say what they wanted me in for.

Sitting waiting for something you know nothing about isn’t good.

They want to give me an epidural and I had the choice of that. But no one is telling me why I’m here.

Nurses are good, their run off their feet.

Been here since 8am- no one told me I would be last.

Dear back162

I was really sorry to read your post. Your description of your recent experience and the lack of information given to you is not acceptable and it must have been frightening for you not knowing what you were in hospital for. I would be grateful if you could contact me directly on 01592 643355 ext 20148 to allow me to discuss this further with you. In the meantime I will share your post with the staff as there is learning in your story for us all.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and I hope to speak with you soon.

Kind regards

Gill Ogden
