Our elderly dad was brought in the A&E department in the early hours on Sunday 8th May by ambulance, the two paramedics , nurses and doctors in A&E and the Assessment Ward were really good in the care of Derrick.
Our main praise and thanks must go to everyone who works on Newington Ward, the care and compassion shown to my dad and us was outstanding ,nothing was to much trouble for anyone.
When we got the devastating news about our dad our world fell apart but it was a a great help in knowing we could ask any question at any time and we got a 100% honest answer even if it wasn't good news.
The twelve days our dad spent on the ward before he sadly died last Thursday morning were filled with sadness and yes some laughter
As I said earlier all the staff were amazing but I would like to mention two in particular the Matron and Staff nurse they are both a credit to you and the nursing profession .
In this day and age were it seems people only ever want to complain and moan we wanted to just say Thank You!
Regards
Tracey,Steve,Bob Bowles and families
