After several weeks in ward 24, I can honestly say I feel frustrated with the lack of nursing within the ward.

Since my last stay everything has been computerised. This I believe should make all info processing easier. Having had the experience of working in a paperless office, tying up notes of 6 patients shouldn't interfere with the role of nursing, however I feel some nurses seem to like using the excuse of iv'e got my notes to type up. Instead of the nurses spending time having to ask each other about how each patient is, why not just sit down with the patient and go through their care plan. One nurse even went on to say that the notes were based on observations. What happened to the art of nursing? There are still some nurses that genuinely care. However there are more improvements that need to be made to what is potentially a caring and safe enviroment.

As Service Manager for ward 24 I firstly wish to apologies if the care you received fell short of the standard I would expect from the nursing staff in Ward24. I would also like to thank you for giving this feedback and would be interested to hear any further thoughts you may have to help us make improvements in the delivery of care offered to patients. It is very reassuring that management are willing to hear patients views with a view to improving current services. I will be taking the opportunity to meet Patricia Rhodie to discuss matters further

Unfortunately nothing has changed after meeting with patricia rhodie and she continues to avoid corredpondence regarding these issues. Note typing comes first and patient care a poor second.
