"Less than impressed by care at Northwick Park"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

four months ago I was knocked down and my leg was broken. The marvellous paramedics who arrived very quickly made me as comfortable as possible and took me to the nearest A&E. They were so kind I nearly cried. Alas and alack the A&E were so heartless they also brought me to the verge of tears. Reception was made aware of my condition but It was nearly half an hour before I received painkillers and was taken to the xray department. After that it was over three hours before I saw a doctor and my leg was put in plaster and I was wheeled off to a ward. Unfortunately my ordeal was not over. After my operation I remained in this ward for just over three days. I have T2 diabetes and need to eat regular meals. The food was so disgusting that I couldn't eat it and not one of these nurses enquired why I was not eating. I was also forced out of bed and made to use a zimmer frame to get myself to the toilet. For my own good of course. I was less than impress by the behaviour of these nurses and somebody must surely test the food.
