"Problems after hysterectomy aftercare"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / General surgery Pilgrim Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Had cyst on ovary, so you did a full hysterectomy. Why?

Admitted multiple times and my prolapse was not diagnosed. I did, and showed you what I found. I was right. In fact, I feel like stopping my stool softeners  made my condition worse and performing transit study last caused yet another impaction, now bladder has also prolapsed. I have right abdominal pain, which I think is a hidden hernia, but it hasn't yet been diagnosed as I have no lump.  Not all hernias have lumps. The gynaecologist at my appointment bleeped for surgeons none came, so was wheeled round to a&e. Why their shift had finished. I left a&e at 10: 30 pm. In the same pain I came with. I had been at pilgrim from 1: 30pm.

Dear losthope,

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback on the Patient Opinion website.

Your comments are not easy to read, and you are clearly, and understandably, upset and annoyed by your experience, for which I apologise.

It is not possible, or appropriate, for us to deal with your particular questions through a public website, so I would like the opportunity to speak with you and get some more details so I, in turn, can speak to the teams involved in your care and get some answers for you.

If you would be prepared to either e-mail me (Sharon.kidd@ulh.nhs.uk) with your contact details, or telephone me on 07799 868206, I can take some more details from you.

Thank you once again for sharing these comments, and I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

With best regards,

Sharon Kidd, Patient Experience Manager
