I saw the consultant in Bridlington outpatients within a few weeks of Gp referral and then only 4 weeks until surgery date. I went onto Kent Ward and was well looked after with staff keeping me informed and involved. The whole experience was as good as it could be (obviously I would rather not have had to have an op though) and I was out by 8pm same day. The ward has individual rooms side rooms for 4 with male/female kept separate, the staff are friendly, patient and answer the buzzer when you ring it. The food is typical hospital fayre but as its cooked/chilled off site its not unexpected although to be fair, if you are a day stay as most are on Kent you probably wont have more than a sandwich. Bridlington Hospital is a lovely friendly place and its a real shame the powers that be have not made more use of it rather than send Bridlington people off to Scarborough. There are empty wards here that could and should be utilised.
