My Mum fell and sustained what I would describe as a serious deep cut to her leg. Due to where she was at the time and the nature of her injury, she was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General.
We waited only a few moments before she was seen by Allison, Charge Nurse in the Minor Injuries Unit. Both my Mum and I are very grateful for the level of care and compassion shown by Allison, who immediately put my Mum at ease, answering her questions and advising on aftercare. Allison worked quickly but very precisely to ensure my Mum was comfortable and the wound was 'repaired' to avoid scarring.
I am incredibly impressed by this service at Wishaw General and despite being aware of the pressures of a mounting 'waiting list' and requests for assistance in other areas of A&E, Allison ensured my Mum was her priority at that time. This was a good example of patient centred care, which was both safe and effective. I want to say a huge thank you on behalf of my Mum.
